QB Stuff

Question
Coach, don't really know how to say this, well I'm an Australian, 15 years, 5'11, 70 kgs, (sorry i don't know how many pounds that is) and I have been throwing a ball around for about 3 yrs, i can keep it almost deadly straight, and my max throw is about 50 yards, yes I have studied NFL for a while, I support the Falcons (and watch all of their games), know who Brady Quinn is and and the Utility tackle from the tight end etc. so it's not as though I'm some weirdo that doesn't know what i'm talking about. with the discription above, would you say that I am any good? If so how do i get noticed around here? Is my arm strength comparable to kids my age and size in the USA? I know there is alot more involved in being a good QB but I'm asking the question on physical ability. A place in Victoria (a state here) I could have played for them, unseated the starting QB there, (he is an American born) . I keep good velocity and the right spin on the ball, I have an american teacher who says I have a good technique, he went to college with Mike Shanahan. I really love this game and I'm wondering if i have a future in it by any chance. Thanks, Jack

Answer
Dear Jack,
You are going to have to put on some more muscle. However, the answer to your question is, yes. Yes you have the makings of a quarterback. If you can get the right coach to work with you, you can have a shot at playing college football.

If I were you I would spend some time in the weight room. You want to gain muscle not fat. And you do not want to do anything that will hurt you in the long run.

REMEMBER ONLY A DOCTOR CAN TELL YOU IF THE PROGRAM YOU ARE STARTING IS TOO MUCH FOR YOU. You need to get your PARENTS, your COACH, and your DOCTOR involved.

1. GET YOUR PARENTS PERMISSION AND ASK FOR THEIR ADVICE. THEY CAN BE OF GREAT HELP TO YOU.

2. TALK TO YOUR COACH HE IS THERE TO HELP YOU. HE WANTS YOU TO SUCCEED. HE CAN GET YOU STARTED ON THE RIGHT PROGRAM.

3. BEFORE YOU START ANY PROGRAM MAKE SURE YOU GET YOUR PARENTS PERMISSION AND YOUR DOCTORS OKAY.

REMEMBER ONLY A DOCTOR CAN TELL YOU IF THE PROGRAM YOU ARE STARTING IS TOO MUCH FOR YOU. IT IS BETTER TO BE SAFE THAN TO BE SORRY!!!!!!!!!!

Your friend, Coach Louis
