tips on being reciever

Question

There really isnt much I can tell you about this subject, because there isnt much to know.  Getting of of the line is 99% WILL!  You have to have the WILL to get by the CB.  IF he is bumping you, you should be able to keep him off of you enough to get into your route.

A few things will help out.. First is speed.. IF you are fast, he will be less likely to bump you, because he will know he cant catch up to you once you break away.  The faster you are, the more cushion you will get on the line.  Also, what I call "hand work".  Ever watch a JUDO match?  They are masters at knowing how to keep a guys hands from getting ahold of them.  Receivers learn a lot of these techniques for your reason..  So start getting some info on what other WRs do, as well as maybe some basic JUDO techniques..  Practice these as often as possible to get good at them..  Lastly, make sure that whoever covers you in practice bumps you enough for you to work on your techniques.  If he doesnt, you will not develop good skills to defend against it, and when in a game, you wont get off the LOS.

Like I said Carlos, solving your problem is mostly a mental thing.. You have to decide for yourself that YOU WILL NOT ALLOW A PLAYER TO KEEP YOU FROM GETTING YOUR JOB DONE!  PERIOD!!  Along with that, work on the physical aspects I spoke about to help you along.  I am sure you will get the hang of it soon!

Best wishes
