Question
I am an assistant Roller hockey coach.
My son is 11 yrs old and uses a youth bauer xxxx stick.
the coach says his stick is too small, I say since it is right now the perfect lenght no cutting and no end plug,it is just right. his hands are kind of small a junior or intermediate is a little fat in his hands.
at what age or size should he move onto a junior or intermediate stick?
please let me know.
Thanks

Answer
Your son is right at about the age one might start to consider going to a bit bigger stick yes...  That said - it really boils down to what YOUR SON is most comfortable with and can perform as best he can.   If he is missing passes or whiffing on shots - it may be a sign a bigger stick (blade) is needed...  it may take a few times to adjust, but in a short time it should feel right.  If he is doing ok and having fun...  leave it be.   Use the stick till it's worn out!!  They cost too much as it is anyway!!  LOL!

Bottom line: HAVE FUN!

Hope this helps!

Thanks
