Question
Hey me and a friend are getting back into rugby for the first time in a few years we're both twenty he is six two and thirteen stone who used to play second row and I'm six foot and twelve stone who used to play hooker, do you have any advice for us to getting the necessary size to be able to get back into junior rugby without it going to fat?
Cheers

Answer
Start with strength then add explosive power work outs, very close to the season (4 - 6 weeks move to sprint training and "boot camp" style training.

Strength: go to Amazon.com and get Mark Rippetoes' book or DVD called "Starting Strength" look up boot camps at local gyms and google or use this website (allexperts.) for a simple /basic sprint traning program.

Eat healthy cut down on the booze and get sleep and rest

Watch a lot of rugby on TV and study the positions your play in
