Slow Pitch Softball: Glove Use & Ejections - Official Ruling
Question
Adult Men's Slow Pitch Softball
If a fielder intentionally throws his/her glove at a batted ball in fair territory, is the fielder automatically ejected from the game? If not, what is the ruling?
Answer
Hi Randy,
no it's stupid, accomplishes nothing good but it's not an ejection and it's no penalty unless the glove actually hits the ball. If it contacts the ball it's a delayed dead ball and then it's 3 base award to the b-r from the time of the pitch.
