Improving Ball & Strike Consistency in Fastpitch Softball: Umpire Training

How do you train umpires to ensure a somewhat consistent calling of balls and strikes? I am observing too many games being impacted by the inconsistent calling of balls and strikes.

Different orgs have different standards.

I know ASA, NFHS, NCAA have many yearly schools and clinics. Umpires are only as good as their talent, experience, schools, clinics and motivation make them.

Don't be too harsh though it takes many years with a ton of hard work to be "a home plate umpire". Umpires reading this know what I mean.
