Injury rule

My question is this: What is the rule when you have eleven players batting 1 is the EH. One of the players gets hurt so now we are only batting 10 with no EH.  To my knowledge since the injured player was removed because of his injury we should not be given an out in the injured players batting position.

Hi Steve,

The player listed 11 is actually an EP or extra player.  as you know all 11 bat and any 10 can play defense.

However in ASA if you chose to use an EP and lose 1 player and have no legal sub (any reason except for ejection in which case you forfeit) you are now playing shorthanded and take an out in the missing batter's position.  That's the risk you take with playing all 11.
