Protesting a game with no basis

Question
Recently, we played a semi-final slow pitch game.  Our team won 6-5.  The umpire has two daughters on our team, but has never called anything in our favor.  In fact, he called a questionably play against us.  He knows he is under the microscope for the relationship with our team, so goes out of his way to make sure there is no favoritism.  There were no questionably calls in the game, and we won fairly.  The other team made many errors and was the basis for their loss.  After the game was played, they filed a protest.  Can they do this?  We are protesting their protest on the basis that their protest is illegitimate, but there is a chance we have to replay the game.

Answer
HI Nicole,

I assume they're protesting the umpire.  IMO they should have done that at the beginning of the game and not played until another umpire was available.  It's up to your softball supervisor but I personally wouldn't allow the protest unless they could show me the umpire made obviously biased calls.
