Prep for playing college ball

Question
My daughter has played travel ball for the last four seasons and wants to play softball in college.  She is a sophomore this year and will be playing 16U.  Her coaches believe she has talent is fully capable of college at a pretty competitive level.  We live in a state that does not have high school softball.  Will she be disadvantaged by the fact she cannot play high school ball?  And what can we do to offset that disadvantage?

Answer
Not playing high school softball will not be a disadvantage. Playing completive travel ball is an advantage. College coaches do not usually scout high school teams for players. If they do scout players it抯 usually at select tournaments and if they are there it抯 typically because they are looking at a player that had already contacted them. That is the key, presenting herself as a player to the college coach. Don抰 just "hope" a college coach will see her or hear about her, it won抰 happen. Start getting a game plan together this year and prepare to follow the help guidelines seen at this link.
