Legality of Defensive Positioning in Fastpitch Softball - Babe Ruth & ASA Rules

We play Babe Ruth Softball here and in a 12 and under game the other coach pull his leftfielder and move her behind the catcher to field pass balls to pervent runs from scoring from third.  Is this legal in Babe Ruth or anyother legel of fastpitch.  Thank you.

I don't know about Babe Ruth Softball rules however a fielder behind the catcher would be illegal in ASA softball.

All defensive players except the catcher, who must be in the catchers box, must be anywhere on fair grounds before the ball is put in play.

Basically players on the defensive team can be stationed anywhere on fair territory, except the catcher, who must be in the catcher's box, and the pitcher, who must be in a legal pitching position at the start of each pitch.

A player can not be stationed on foul ground.
