Fastpitch Softball Pitching Rules: Understanding Legality & Proper Technique

 I pitch for my 14&under league team in Redkey,IN and when I pitch I "explode" off the mound. The coach of the team we played said I was pitching illegaly. He said that when I pitch i jump off the mound when all I do is push off really hard and shoot forward. Am I really pitching illegaly? I would really apreciate it if you answer my question.

Hi Kendra,
It's not important what the coach said, it's only important if the umpire called it.  It's difficult to say without actually seeing you pitch but you know what you can and can't do.  Has your pitching ever been consistently called illegal by umpires?

If not I wouldn't worry about it.
