Having one of my setters block!

Question
I have been running a 6-2 off.  I have one setter that can block really well, I would like her to help block certain  teams that we have not been able to block a strong 5 and at times even a middle.  My other blockers aren't moving with the middle and can't seem yet to be able to judge a 5 and get off the antenna!  I think this is an option I would like to try,  is this a good option at the high school level.   I have seen a couple other schools not in our area do this?

Answer
Hello Kay, I'm back, and I think I've answered this before you've even read my first response!   GOOD!!   :)

Now that I've ready your question closely, I don't see the issue.  You're running a 6-2.  So when your blocking setter is in the front row, she's not a setter.  So she can block, right?  Do you usually take your setters out when the get to the front row?  If so, then for the blocking setter, don't take her out.  Just let her stay in and play the right side.  She can then block the 5, and help your MB's block the middle.

Maybe you're saying you want this girl to play right side back and row, and middle in the front?  Whoa!  If you're saying that, then that's something I've never seen a team do!  If you've seen it, I'd like to see a video of this team.  That's unique to have a MB/S combination!
