Net Fault

Question
I know that it is not considered a net fault if a player contacts the net after the ball has hit the ground (the play is over).  If the offensive team hits their third hit into the middle of the net and then the blocker contacts the net, is this still considered a net fault?  Or is the play considered to be over?  Thank you.

Answer
The play is not over but at the same time the net contact by the opposing team is also not a net contact.  Technically the play is not over until a fourth contact is made or the ball hits the ground.  The player touching the net, did not touch the net, rather you can think of it as the net touching him or her.  The net contact was initiated by the ball and then hit the player.  I caution you that some leagues will not allow this kind of contact if the hit was on the first or second hit and the opposing player purposely held up his/her hand in order to deflect the ball through the net.
