setters hand signals

Question
I am desperatly trying to find a website showing the different hand signals used by setters in order to call plays. I am not crazy about the number system (1 to 12 or more - lots to remember). I am assuming that there is some sort of commonly used set of hand signals (i.e. fist for a tandem, etc.). Thank you!

Answer
Rebecca,

Every offensive numbering system has its own hand signals. Some teams use 9 net numbers, others use a net location plus a height number....like a 32 or a 93.  We only use five numbers.  I do not know of a web site but here is what we use.

1 finger is a 1
2 fingers (like a V) is a 2
3 fingers is a 3
4 fingers is an outside set
5 is a high back set
pinky and thumb is a slide
pinky is a back 1
fingers crossed is an X play
thumb, index and pinky is a front slide
thumb and index finger (like a gun) for a shoot or fast 4

Hope this was of some help.
Steve
