libero training

Question
I am 5'3" and a freshman.  I am a great digger and server, but there was no libero position this year so I ended up a setter, which I've never done before!  I was voted MVP for my aggressive play and game-winning serves.  JV and Varsity have liberos.  How can I improve my game for next year and push for the libero position? I've gotten the "you're too short" speech from JO , but I'll be back trying out again.  I WANT TO PLAY!  (Sorry for shouting)

Answer
No such thing as too short for setting and libero.  The big thing I look for when I look at my setters and libero is consistency.  You have got to set and pass in all situations with the same results over and over and over, without mistakes.  Also, you will need a ton of motivation and a great attitude.  So, it the courts, practice, practice, practice.  Also, don't forget your endurance trainng.  In the off-season, you should be running.  In the pre-season, transition to sprinting.

Good Luck!
