Spiking, nerves, general stuff

Question
I'm like really new at this. First year every playing and I'm a freshman. I just need general tips like keep ur eye on the ball all the way down when you bump it. Stuff like that. Also, I understand you're trying to spike it down but mine seem to go ---> and then down :-S and Also, nerves is bad too. I get all discouraged sometimes and it's not good. Another thing, I got hit in the head like 3 times in two practices because I couldnt move back fast enough, lol.. it was a sad deal. But what could I have done to stop that? Please and Thanks for the help!

Answer
The most important thing you can do when you are first starting out, is to work closely with your coach...and listen to what they are telling you to do, as far as approaches and fundamentals. Pick ONE thing, just one..to focus on, that will help you to keep from getting too nervous because you are thinking about too much. Seriously, have fun, relax, and open up to the learning process. Dont be focused on being awesome at everything at once. Learn the right way....one thing at a time!!
