defense techniques

Hello and how are you,

As summer comes to an end I find that I am in a debate over defense techniques and am curious as to what you teach and or look for in a defensive player.  What are you thoughts on high platform?

My strenghts are by far in offense and strategy. However, when looking for a defensive player, speed, fast light feet, and quick response time are the most important attributes. Although, fundamentals are crucial, I do believe that there are players out there who may do things a little differently, or maybe not as fundamentally sound as we believe...if they have success, then my stanse is not tear it down...take what they have, and work to improve it...high platform or not...
I am not a high platform fan....however, if you have a player who it works for on a consistant level, then embrace it.
