Granger Favorite Fly rod

Question
Could you please help me. I have a Goodwin Granger Bamboo rod that belonged to my dad.
It has never been used and its still in original case. It also has an extra tip.
Info on the reel handle:
Pat April 12, 1938
Pat# 2114 107
The name on the rod is Granger Favorite.
Four pieces to this rod.
It has six flat sides to this rod.
I measured each piece and they are 36 inches long.
I would like to know the history and value, if any, of this rod. I would like to be able to hand this down to my children with the old fishing lures and reels that are still in original boxes.
Thanks again for your help.

Granger made good , medium priced rods from the 20s to the late 40s.

I am assuming  your rod is 9 ft and fly rod (reel below handle) and has flat sides.
Price Book:
Antique & Collectible  Fishing Rods: Identification & Value Guide Homel, Dan. 1997 (2nd edition 2000) add about 30% for age of book.
Home does not mention a 9 foot "favorite" and it would be worth slightly less than the 8 1/2  which follows.

Homel gives the Granger Favorite trout fly rod 8 1/2'   with an extra tip, 3 sections the  value of  $90, 200 and $400 for poor, good, excellent condition respectively.

So for the 9 footer in unused condition I would say $400.

Luck,
Mac
