Repairing a Broken Bamboo Fishing Rod: A Restoration Guide

Question
I have my grandfathers old Horrocks Ibbotson Peconic bamboo rod.  The top section brook in half, into 2 separate pieces, splintery.   Is there any way to fix it to make in presentable in a display?  I know I can't ever fish it, but I would like to see it.  Thanks  Peter

I have seen a repair where your cut above and below the break at a steep angle (25 and 175 degrees). This cut has to be at least 3 inches so that the can overlap . This is then wrapped but if you were just going to display, just glue.
See a picture of a scarfed rod to be glued at
