Answer
Diane,
One of the problems with Hardy rods is that they are English , I am a Western US guy. I see a few Hardy's now and then but , they aren't collected as much here as Europe.
I bought Hardy cd information of rods and reels from ebay , it was the same information that used to be at The Hardy web page, but stopped late 2009. They are in Canada , BC email:  [email protected] Telephone:  250.746.1899

This information says the serial number is dated 1935. RCB  is a 10 foot 2 piece model.

My price book mentions Hardy: Antique & Collectible  Fishing Rods: Identification & Value Guide Homel, Dan. 1997 (2nd edition 2000) add about 30% for age of book.

Palokana is a  model according to Homel.
Homel gives the Hardy  model "Palakona #8" fly rod 8 1 /2'  with an extra tip, 2 sections the  value of  $80, 160 and $275 for poor, good, excellent condition respectively.

Homel doesn't always mention all rod  models but I don't think Hardy made a 8ft 9 inch model. Are the sections equal in length or shorter (probably broken)?

You might try ebay especially ebay.UK.

I quote these books written by researchers so you know I am not making it all up, But I include my experience as well.

It has taken me the best part of an hour to write this up , please take a few seconds to provide feedback. Please remember I am a volunteer , the feedback is the only result I get from doing this.

Luck,
Mac
