building rods

Hi just turd 17 and i fish every day after school well its summer now so i work but i fish with G loomis and st. croix rods and was thinking about starting to build my own rods if it could save me a little money so my question is well it save  me money after i buy all the stuff to get set up to build them

I have good news for you. You not only can save money building your own rods but you can use better guides handles and do all sorts of trick stuff. The big plus is that it is easy to assemble all you need for very little money to get started and see if you like building rods. Warning building custom rods is highly addictive. My best suggestion is log on to rodbuilding.org. The people on there are more than willing to give advise and the archives have help with most questions that you have. There is also a directory where you can see if there are any builders in your area, most are willing to get together with a beginner and give a little help.
