Where can I get a spare spool for reel? Can you tell me about the reel? How old? Is it discomntinued?

Hi Michael,

Yes, those have been long discontinued.  I'm guessing it's from the 1950,s.  Maybe a little older.  There is a chance to find a spool from an antique tackle collector.  But probably a slim chance.  Joe Douglas on this site is the expert on old tackle.  He may have more info for you.

They were mass produced so any of the H-I stuff isn't worth a lot of money.  It's a great keep sake though.
