Old Metal fishing Rods

Question
I have 3 old metal fishing rods I would to know the value of and any other info you may have:

1) True Temper made by American Fork & Hoe Co.  "speedlock" 48" long

2) Bristol marking on reel seat area  telescoping rod 6'6" long
3) Shakespeare  "Ingles" markings 5' long

Answer
Hi Wayne,

Typically, the old steel rods don't have much collector value.  Values for these rods in Good-Very Good condition, based on my reference books, would likely be:

True Temper in the $10-$20 range.

Bristol telescoping in the $10-$20 range.

Shakespeare, if it's tubular, in the $30-$35 range.

For most of these rods, regardless of maker or retailer, they tend to show up often in the $5-$15 range at sales and in online auctions.  My opinion is that they are very good rods, particularly for fishing, and should be valued higher.  Perhaps they will be some day.

Thanks,  Joe
