cane rod and lures

Question
I have a cane fly rod that says Genuine Tonkin Cane near the cork handle and just above that it says Governor. It was made in Utica New York by H-I. It is a three piece rod that is 8' in length. the tip was broken off sometime ago which does I'm sure affects the value, but I am just curious what the value is for this rod.
I also have 2 mechanical fishing lures made by the Leon Tackle Co. in Detroit MI. They are hard plastic with a propeller on the front which causes the mouth to open and close when puled through the water. I believe the lures are called Chase A Bug lures. They have never been used and I still have the original box. I wondered what they might be worth?

Answer
H-I flyrods were high production lower quality rods, the fact the tip is broken further hurts the value. I would put it in the $10-20 range.

The Chase A Bugs on the otherhand are of interest to collectors. I would expect them to sell in the $50-$75 range since they are mint in the orignal boxes. The color of the lures may further influence the value. (Collectors color collect lures, scarce colors are worth more).

I could be off on my values, the economy has significantly depressed the value of collectable fishing tackle...more people selling off old lures than buying.

Bob
