Valuation of Vintage Sport King M190 Tonkin Cane Fishing Rod

found "genuine tonkin cane" approximately 6 ft length stiff, salt water rod with marking "sport king m190" in script. very good condition. estimate of value please. thank you

Hi Barry,

This is a variation of the Horrocks-Ibbotson boat rod probably made by H-I for someone else...possibly Montgomery Wards...H-I did not sell a Sport King model, Wards did, and H-I made rods for Wards.  It's a good guess on the history of the rod.

If the script is written in white ink, running toward the reel seat, it's an H-I made rod.

Value of the rod is in the $40-$60 range in very good condition.
