Valuing a Bill Barnes Bamboo Fly Rod: A Collector's Perspective

I have an old bamboo fly rod and the only Id. on is Bill Barns Fishing tackle.I would like to know is there any value to it.

FYI its Barnes on my rod not Barns.

I know your rod was sold by Dave Cooks Sporting Goods here in Denver, probably in the 50s. I have Bill Barnes rod and it is an above average quality rod. I found an ad that gives me that information. But today I can't find that ad. No one knows who built it. Collectors assign value by condition and model to renown rod makers. So since it is off the collectors radar, you rod will not resale for much.

I do not know who Bill Barnes was ,he seems to have been a Denver fishing celebrity in the 50s. But that is just a presumption, no facts involved.

I recommend you follow my example and fish it.
