Horrocks Ibbotsons Cascade

Hello Rich, My father has a cascade with both tips in excellent condition. There is no decal but there is a manufacturer number 251-12 we were wondering if this in any way will tell what year the rod was made we are aware that its value may be around 100 dollars. If there is no decal , is there writing ? How do you know it is H-I Cascade ? If you say the bag and or tube , that won't do for most collectors.
I have looked and to the best of my knowledge there is no serial numbers on H-I. They are not in any of the major books on vintage rods.
But Bamboo Rod Restoration Handbook by Michael Sinclair ,  implies your rod was made in the 40s or 50s.
