i have no. 2807 3 piece orvis bamboo rod ina grey cloth sleeve and aluminum tube. Do you know when it was made and by whom. thanks

I look in the database and could found the number 2807

Orvis made your rod ,  they are very reputable , been around since the civil war. The database does not give the actual person who made your rod.

I have heard if you call Orvis 888-235-9763, they have a non digital , paper source with more complete serial numbers. I have also heard that if you ask for a value they will put your off but if you ask for age then maker  you will get some help.

Is it? fly or casting rod ? Reel seat is below or above the cork handle ?
Check metal for id and patents ? What is it made of; bamboo ( flat sided) fiberglass or graphite ( round)? Weight in oz? What is the diameter  (not circumference) of the rod above the handle? Where was it purchased ? What type of metal nickel-silver, tin, or chrome platted brass? A complete description of any logos or labels. Length of rod per section and number of sections. Total rod length.
