Heddon Rod & Reel Combo: Identification, Value & History

Question
I have a Heddon convertible 180 reel and a Heddon Mark " Golden 50",#6446-6 1/2" , controlled flex action rod. I wanted to know if the rod is bamboo or fiberglass, a little history, and what the value of both is?
Thanks!

Answer
Rob,
I don't do reels, cause they rarely have values over $10.

From the name and number I would say your rod is fiberglass and is round. If it has flat sides then I am wrong and it is bamboo.

Date is going to be after 1950 and before 1970.

Price Book:
Antique & Collectible  Fishing Rods: Identification & Value Guide by Homel, Dan. 1997 (2nd edition 2000# add about 30% for age of book.
Homel has a book on reels probably at your local library.
Homel gives the Heddon   model "Golden Mark 50" fiberglass fly rod 6'6" c.1960 with out an extra tip, 2 sections the  value of  $8, 30 and $60
