I was wondering what my grand-father's "brand new" orchard industries model 1686 glas rod 8'6 in length.

Most of the orchard industry rods run in the $30-$40 range. Yours sounds near mint, if so it should run in the high end. Note: however with the economy, there is more supply out their than demand.

There is a trigger seat version of the rod that generates more value..it has a spring system build into the handle.
