Test line for carp

Whats the best rod and rell for carp fishing with the carp being 20-30 lbs or more.

Dear Pam,
Carp angling can be fun with any gear,,,,,, most people will use a med to med heavy rod,6.5-7 feet, and a good spinning reel, Personally prefer a  braid line, however stren makes a superior mono which should serve you well.
Most of the fishing that I do for CARP is done "EURO" style which necessitates 12-13 foot rods, and special spinning reels called "bait Runners"...
