Vintage 1975 Orvis Flea Bamboo Fly Rod - Original Owner - Excellent Condition

Question
I own a 'gently used' Orvis Flea bamboo fly rod built circa 1975 in Manchester, VT. This rod is in very good to excellent condition, having been properly stored in its original sleeve and cylindrical metal tube with screw-tight entry. The rod was used between 1975 - 1982 and has since been in storage. I am the original owner.

The rod was used exclusively to fish the fabled spring creeks of central Pennsylvania -- the Letort (Charlie Fox's meadow), Big Spring, Falling Spring Creek, Yellow Breeches and several others. This rod excels at presenting the ultra small mayfly, shrimp, scud and terrestrial imitations specific to these storied meadow streams.

Rod Specifications:  Orvis Flea Bamboo Fly Rod, two piece, 6 1/2 feet, one tip, 2 oz. in weight, for HFG 4 weight fly line, serial #75112

I'd like someone to take ownership of this fine rod and once again enjoy its classic beauty and performance.

What is the rod's estimated value? Is there an interested buyer>

Answer
Dennis,
Orvis made good rods and they are highly valued by collectors.
I used  the Orvis database , Orvis Bamboo Rod Production ~ 1940 to 2008: A Collector's Reference Copyright 2003-2008 James Gregory Reynolds
http://mysite.verizon.net/vze2h7gi/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderfiles/orvis.htm
Number 75112  is not in the database:
But here's some close
Serial #           date    style     length   ounces   pieces   notes
7511   3/2/50   Battenkill - 16/64 & 10/64 ferrules    8   -   3   Built by George Reid

17511   6/15/55   Battenkill - 15/64 ferrules   8 1/2   5   2   Built by George Reid and Cal Skinner

87511      7/3 - 10/64 ferrules   7   3 1/4   2   Tan print bag, black aluminum tube, brass cap, black and gold foil label

There are 105 flea rods in the database, 1966 - 1984, all are  6.5 feet.
I'd like to pin down the serial number before I give my final dollar value answer.

Value :
Book: Antique & Collectable Fishing Rods: Identification & Value Guide Homel, Dan. 1997 (2nd edition 2000) add about 30% for age of book.

Homel gives the 6.5 model 'Orvis Flea'  fly rod with an extra tip, 2 sections the  value of  $125, 300 and $500 for poor, good, excellent condition respectively.

I think I could better than $500 but I would need pictures to establish condition (macsrods@yahoo.com).

I am jealous of the locations and fishing you did with this rod . Just too cool for words.
Good Luck,
Mac
