Understanding Graphite Rod Stages in Fly Fishing: A Quick Overview
Question
What is stage 1,2,3,and 4 graphite when it comes to fly rods?
Answer
Hi Don,
This one is way beyond my knowledge of the chemistry involved in producing the graphite compounds used in rod making. a quick look at Google indicates these terms have something to do with the compound formation, but it's not something I readily understand. I had never heard the terms before.
Perhaps you would have better luck contacting someone at one of the US based rod factories like St Croix, Lamiglas or Sage. Joe
