Identify & Value Your Vintage Telescopic Fly Fishing Rod
Question
hi bob, what i have is a telescopic metal fly rod compact measures 41" extended just over 9'. cork handle light brown in color, 4 eyelet with red ceramic or bakelite inserts, chrome base with large caps X-PERT logo on reel seat. could you please tell me the age, rarity, maker of this rod. is this rod worth keeping? thanks kevin
Answer
These rods typically sell in the $5 to $25 range depending on condition. The rod was probably sold thru a distributor like mont. wards, sears, etc so determining the original manufacturer is difficult.
The valueable rods are early American split bamboo rods that were custom built.

Bob
