Wright&Mcgill deep sea rod

I have an old wrightmcgill rod that was made speacil for my grandfather.
I have been offered $3500.00 for the rod with the shamanoo reel on it.
the label on it is written in what appears to be script and not a stamped type label, written  directly on the rod.
approxamately what would the rod be worth for insurance reasons?

Is this rod made from bamboo ? What if any model name does it have ? I would need  allot more information on the reel , too.

I think you are asking for value for insurance . At you local major library check:
Antique & Collectable Fishing Rods: Identification & Value Guide Homel, Dan. 1997.
But I doubt if it is worth $3500. I doubt you will find your rod in any book as most collectors are into bamboo trout fly rods.
