i was wondering about fishing carp in the river. Where is places to look for carp? What is the best method and bait? And Fishing in High water? We've been getting alot of rain and the rivers are about at flood stage and a really bad current. i was wondering if the carp are even will bite in these conditions

When waters are high there is usually an over abundance of natural food stuff in the area, and fish usually "TURN ON"
fishing in rapidly moving rivers can however be a chore,,,your best bet would be to try to find a quiet cove, and fish in there, if you fish the rivers while the water is moving you might well need a 5 or 6 ounce GRIPPER weight, and personally that's just too much effort !

Look for drop offs, under branches, near stumps, and where water is flowing in,,,,depending on what part of the country you are in, look for warm water discharges, any bait might bring rewarding results, Sweet corn is an all time favorite, you might have a problem keeping it on the hook however,,,,in that case you can purchase artificial sweet corn in some tackle shops.Or try using a BOILIE on a HAIR RIG, the way to tie a hair rig can be found on my web site, at:

Answer
I just checked the national members base of the CARP ANGLER GROUP, and there are currently NO members in Arkansas, which is surprising, as I know CARP populations are great in your state !

I see no reason however why it should be any different than any other waters in the south.
You might want to go on line and go to:
www.carpanglersgroup.com
register as a forum user, and post some questions on that forum,,,,you will find some of the best Carp Anglers in the World, frequent that form.
I prefer calmer waters, prefer to pre-bait with deer corn or range cubes a day before I start to fish, and fish with boilies, or corn.
