tadpoles?

Question
Can you catch bass on large tadpoles? How would you rig it? Thanx,
Doc

Answer
Hi Doc,
Sorry it has taken a little while to get back in touch, but my world is more of a whirlwind these days.

As for the large tadpoles, yes, bass will take them, but it would be more likely that if there were any catfish in the area they would hit first.  To tell the truth, I'm not sure on the rigging.

If you are wanting to fish something similar, but in an artificial style, try a 6-inch lizard.  I Texas rig these with a Daiichi or XPoint hook, and crawl them along the bottom, making sure they make contact with any structure along the path.  Two colors have always covered me for this lure - black neon and watermelon.

Hope this has helped in some way.

If there are any further questions on this, or any other fishing related subject, please feel free to get back in touch.

Best of fishing,
Dan
