Rainbow Trout spawning in pond

Question
I had 12 rainbow trout stocked in my pond 6 years ago..my pond is in southern VT And is 60'x80' and about 16-18' deep.  My trout appear every spring and keep on growing, lately I have found two dead (maybe old age?)any way ysterday as I was swimming there were three very small dead fish...they looked like little trout, I can't imaginge the old trout of mine spawning?  There are also a few (4) goldfish in the pond, they too had babies?  Any ideas what is happening?  Thanks for any insight,

Answer
6 years is not really old for a fish. It is possible that the fish died from the recent hot spell. Trout do not take well to hot water. As for spawning? Yes, fish will do what fish do when they have the opportunity. A lot would depend on how old the fish were when you got them.
Trout do spawn mostly in moving water.. however they can lay thousands of eggs and only a couple of those would have to hatch for you to have young trout. While conditions might not be perfect for them, anything in nature is possible.
If you have a lot of algae in the water it may also have depleted the oxygen in the water and killed some of your fish.
Hard to tell without actually being there and seeing what happened and knowing your weather patterns.
If you need more info let me know. I suspect either low oxygen or hight temps killed the fish.
