bait and rigs

Question
I fish for cats occassionally in the Potomac River in Washington, D.C. and Maryland area. What are the best baits and rig combos that work best for you.

Answer
First off im VERY sorry that i took so long to answer your question...i usually dont  get many questions thru the winter so i dont check my email as often...sorry again.

I like big live creek chubs for catfish...they will work when dead but best when alive...the bigger the better.  Fish them on the bottom or on a bobber, either way works.  I use an egg sinker on my botom rigs so that the line can slip right thru and the catfish doesnt feel resitence.. (Make sure to keep your reels free-spooled).  On a bobber i use a 6inch cigar float set to a desired depth  and hook a creek chub on.

I also like Chicken Livers for Blue and Channel cats (not too good for flatheads but AWESOME for blues and channel cats). Hot dog weiners have a been a weird (and good) producer for me...cut in 1 inch peices and put on a bobber rig.

Good ole nightcrawlers is sometimes teh ticket, but almost ever fish in teh world will eat them so they can be hard to fish with as other fish tend to nibble them away.

Hope i Helped!

Sorry once again!
