125 bamboo fishing rod

Question
My husband has a heddon 125 9th bamboo rod that use to be his great grandfather and we would like to know what the value of it is today.the rod is still in the cloth sleeve and tin canister.he has it for 26 yrs.could you tell us the value and if there are any antiques dealers. Thank you

Answer
Hi Sherry,

The Heddon #125 Expert is a rod made by Heddon exclusively for sale at Sears stores. The #125 in 9' length would be vlaued in the $300-$500 range depending on actual conditon of the rod, bag and tube.  It would be good for you to locate an apprasier in your locale with experience and expertise in inspecting and appraising vintage bamboo rods.

You can search the web for auction houses that deal with antiques.  Do your homework and choose one with the right qualifications and reputation for your product.

Thanks,  joe
