Zebco 33 Reel History: Production Year & Collector Resources

What year was the first Zebco 33 reel produced? And is there any way you could post a picture of the original version?

I am not a zebco expert but I believe the first 33 was in 1954 or close to that. There is a really good website for reel collectors. They have a bulletin board called REEL TALK, if you post there you would get a great deal of information. I think a collector was working on a Zebco book. Here is the website link:

They are great reels, I have some old ones my kids use. Also a Zero Hour Bomber reel...nice ball bearing design.
