Paul Hightower

My Dad Elmer Bohannan worked with a man named Paul Hightower at ( I think) the Phillips rod company back in the late 50's and early 60's. I remember Paul had a wooden leg. I have a split bamboo fly rod Paul gave to my dad maybe 30 years ago. How detailed of a picture do you need to give me a ballpark value. I am not really looking to sell the rod just curious about it.

Yes it is Hightower.
Well I do not know about a wooden leg, that sounds like it might be folk lore, but I can't say it is false. Did you know him or had you met him?  I am a Denver native and met Betty , at where the stock mentioned below, is gathering dust off Evans and Santa Fe drive.
Your rod was sold no earlier than 1979 - so 30 years is correct.

I have seen his work and if your rod has purple lines it is a "Phillipson" . He did have inventory thru DeBell that was glued ,blanks, partial or full rods, but not sold, originating from the 1950s.
Ball park -maybe $200 but it's just a guess, I would need specifics to fell good about an estimate.  could be more, if less than 3 sections and shorter than 8.5 feet
Please send me a not blurry picture of the entire rod, close up of any logos or labels, close up of metal parts to [email protected] , I'd like to know about any letters or logos, can you say the ferrule (connectors) are nickel silver or chrome platted brass ? Length ? sections length , even lengths of all sections, condition - does it fit together and pop when pulled apart?
You need a written evaluation- $5.50 at [email protected], I probably could give it's origin to Phillipson's other wise value is probably $100.
Please don'r quote me about this rod being a Phillipson Right now it is only a maybe- I watch ebay and others have my back.
