Commercial fishing is a $900 million industry in Florida. More than 163,000 jobs in Florida can be traced back to commercial fishing and seafood sales. Florida is responsible for nearly 85% of all the spiny lobster harvested in the nation and nearly 88% of all fish in the U.S. is landed through Florida ports — making the Sunshine State the "Seafood Capital of the United States."
