Rod Joint Replacement & Repair - Abu Garcia Lite Jet 7120

QUESTION: I have a lite jet 7120 abu garcia rod, I need a top joint for said rod, can you help or advise me.

Can you please give me more information.  I am not sure if you mean you need a new tip section for a two piece rod?  Or do you need a new ferrule (the metal joint in an old rod).  I am not familiar with that rod.  Is that an old fiberglass?

QUESTION: Hi Marc,

The Rod is an old carbon fibre rod, three sections, the top section which is missing, not a metal ferrule but a glass to glass.

Hi Stanley,

Argh!, thats going to be a tough one.  Outside of finding the exact rod on E-bay or something like that, this will be nearly impossible.  I have done it once or twice.  You need to go to a rod shop where they have a lot of discarded tip sections and be extremely lucky and find a match.  It will have to be a tip that can be cut down to match the diameter of the existing section and then hope the taper is correct as well.  

I don't want to discourage you from looking, but this will be a tough one to fix.
