QuestionI have the above 2 pc, 8 1/2 ft rod, GBG/8 line weight. I purchased this rod in 1958. It was reconditioned by Orvis in 1986 and used sparingly since. The aluminum case was dented by UPS on its return but otherwise it has nicks through normal use. As I have 4 fly rods and favor my Orvis Graphite and Sage rods I am considering selling this rod.
Can you advise whether this rod has value to a collector or someone who would like to use a vintage rod? I would prefer this instead of passing it down in my family who do not appreciate fly fishing.

Its a wonderful sport, sorry there is no one to pass it on too. I still remember hooking my lip when i was 10.
Buyers both use them and just collect them.
The values of bamboo rods is down quite a bit with the economy and moves up and down more these days. Your rod is a fairly common size.
I would expect $300-350 but could be higher or lower in an auction, etc. (sounds like the rod is near mint)
