QUESTION: i did that and the bunker face was to steep for the ball to stay on the spot and kept rolling down the slope and into the centre of the bunker. it was impossible to place the ball, it just kept rolling down,

whats the rule.

Answer
The general ruling when a ball has to be placed and doesn抰 stay on the spot is to try again and again till we find a new spot as near as possible of the original, but not nearer the hole. I believe we can use the same principle here but I抦 not a golf rules expert. I was just trying to help.
