Driver differences

Question
I am really confused about drivers.  I am a 50yr. old, 12 handicap, smooth easy swinger that in theory should benefit from a regular shaft and higher loft.  I bought a Cleveland DST 10.5 with the regular stock shaft and hit it pretty well for awhile.  For whatever reason this season, I couldn't get off the box at all and had no idea where it going.  Mid round with some friends, I bagged it and went 3 wood.  Next hole a buddy offered his Cobra L Speed 9 degree, stiff shafted driver.  I pounded it.  15+ yards longer and no fade or hook.  Baby pulls and pushes, but everything in play.  What's the deal?    Thanks

Answer
The easy answer is to buy a Cobra L Speed 9 degree driver. On a serious note, see if you can use his driver for a couple of rounds. If you are successful with that driver, consider purchasing one. At times with this game, logic doesn't make much sense. Whatever you play better with, is what you should play with.

Best of luck to you.
