high ballflight and +1 inch shaft +standard lie

Question
QUESTION: Michael,

I play mizunos mp30 with +1 inch shafts midsize grip and people tell me my ballflight seems bit high.
My lie on the club is standard.
Could this be a reason for my higher balls?

I;m thinking about a new set(mp63)
These clubs seem to have a lil lower ballflight with standard lie

Any suggestions?

Greetings,

Peter Beers, The Netherlands

ANSWER: Peter,

Your clubs with the standard lie and +1 inch would equal 2?upright. The fact the the shaft is 1 inch longer might have a slight effect on the ball flight (increased club head speed). My question to you is........are you losing distance because of the ball flight? If not a high ball flight in normal conditions is preferable.

Three major factors affect ball flight. Clubhead speed, angle of attack and loft of the club at impact.

If you are losing distance, check to make sure the ball isn't to forward in your stance. If this doesn't help, take a lesson.

Thanks,

Michael

QUESTION: Michael,

Thank you for your quick respond.

I'm not losing distance under normal conditions.
It can be lil tricky under windy conditions but its not that bad.

Could it be more difficult when i try to shape shots like draw and fade?

I can imagine when my club face is pointing down its harder to shape a draw and with face to far up hitting fade will be difficult?

Its just bit confusing since the clubfitter here never advised me to change the lie .

Thanks for your time again,

Peter

Answer
Peter,

Sorry for the delay. It shouldn't be more difficult to shape a shot with those specifications. If you have issues with this go see a PGA Professional. He/she will be able to help you shape your shots.

Thanks for the follow up and once again sorry for the delay in responding.

Michael
