Golf Swing Drill: Using a Wedge for Tempo and Distance Control
Question
I came up with this drill for myself whereby i use my pitching wedge and keep varying how far back I go ( hands as far as the waist, the shoulders, and full swing ). Do you think that would be a good drill using one of my woods ?
Answer
Hi Neil:
No I don't. Woods aren't meant to bunt. A three quarter swing for a backswing is fine but if you start getting into a small swing with a wood, you also start slowing down the motion and messing with your tempo or timing. Leave the small swings at those checkpoints to your wedges.
