Hi michael: I want to know how to get chip or pitch shots to check up after a couple bounces. Is there a drill for this tupe of shot? Thank you

The only way to make a ball stop or check up on the green is with backspin. In order to achieve backspin, you have to hit the ball as the club is descending through impact. In other words, the bottom of the club's arc has to be after or beyond the ball. Hit down on the ball and you will be able to get backspin and control over the shot.

Place a coin in front of the ball and make sure you hit the coin every time. This will give you the correct arc and backspin will become your friend.
